🌞 Solar Power
We’ve installed solar panels to reduce our grid reliance and make the most of the Far North Queensland sun.

🔥 Heat Pumps
We’re switching over to energy-efficient heat pumps—most units are already installed, with just a few to go.

💡 LED Lighting
All lighting—inside and out—is now LED, saving energy without compromising comfort.

🚿 Water-Saving Fixtures
Shower heads and taps are fitted with flow restrictors to reduce water use.

🔍 Smart Leak Detection
Our digital water meter tracks usage daily. If it spots a leak (even a dodgy toilet flusher), we’re onto it straight away.

🗑️ Recycling & Containers for Change
Guests can easily separate waste and recycling. All eligible bottles and cans are collected through Containers for Change.

🧴 Eco Cleaning Products
We use environmentally friendly cleaning products that are safe for guests, staff, and our fragile reef ecosystem.

♻️ Towel Reuse Program
Guests are encouraged to reuse towels during their stay to help save water and reduce unnecessary washing.

❄️ Energy-Smart Aircon
All aircon units are capped at 23°C—cool enough to keep you comfortable, but kinder to the planet.

🌬️ Natural Ventilation
Our rooms are designed with fully openable windows, improving air flow and reducing the need for cooling.

We’re phasing out individually packaged soaps and shampoos in favour of refillable or low-waste options.

Only three more units to go before we’re 100% heat pump-powered.

As time and funds allow, we’re continuing to invest in sustainable tech and infrastructure.
