I am independent but have some mobility issues. I was thoughtfully offered a designated room with easy access throughout and designated parking. This made my overnight stay very comfortable in a room that was already spotlessly clean and comfortable. I will be a return traveller.

Wonderful stay, comfortable, clean and convenient. Lovely rooms/suites with porch and sliding glass doors. Front desk staff (owner?) helpful and accommodating. Beautiful birdlife seen from the property. Vastly exceeded my expectations for a “motor inn”. Would love to stay here longer/again.

Fantastic base for Port Douglas, very nice and well equipped room and amenities. Stayed here for 2 nights as part of a motorbike trip with dad, Aidan at counter was extremely personable and knowledgeable about the area. He even went above and beyond and organised a birthday cake surprise with candles and a note for dad on my behalf while we went snorkelling. Thanks again Aidan!
18th December 2024 - We stayed a couple of weeks in December. As we had a trailer boat it was ideal location as there was plenty of parking on the street as it's not on the main road
Rooms are very clean and tidy. It was very quiet while we were here. Beds were comfortable with one double and a single. Basic cooking with microwave and electric fry pan and a community BBQ near pool.Staff were friendly. Nice stay

Great room (KING) nice & roomy & clean throughout.
Value for money as it had all the things you would need for a short or extended stay. The units are off the main road, very easy to access & not far from the main part of Port Douglas & were very quiet & relaxing.
The lads are welcoming, friendly & always happy to help.
For the price you can't really beat this in terms of quality and convenience. Aidan is extremely helpful in everything relating to the accommodation and stay itself, but even more so when it comes to recommendations for the area. What to do, when is the best time to do it, offering bookings for tours and discount codes, and lending out literature and utilities. If you are visiting the area around Port Douglas and the Daintree rainforest this seems like a no brainer as a solid base.
Even the small heated pool is a nice addition for a dip or a few laps after the sun is down.
I've stayed at the Lazy Lizard multiple times and there is a reason I keep coming back, and that is its just perfect!
The location is great - easy walking distance to the beach / marina and town. The rooms have everything you could possibly need for a self contained getaway. They are also incredible spacious! The pool is HEATED if you're a wuss like me! Alex and Aiden are the most loveliest hosts you could ever ask for. Whether you are staying for a quick night away or an extended holiday I would highly recommend the Lazy Lizard!
