Great Barrier Reef Marine Park
The Great Barrier Reef Marine Park is a series of over 2,900 individual reefs, 600 rocky continental islands and 300 coral cays. It is the largest natural feature on earth and the only one that can be seen from outer space. The Great Barrier Reef covers 348,000 square km (134,364 sq miles) and stretches more than 2,300 km (1430 miles) along the northeast coast of Queensland, Australia. One of the seven natural wonders of the world and one of Australia's first World Heritage Areas, the Great Barrier Reef is probably the best known marine protected area in the world.
Four Mile Beach 0.8 km
Enjoy some leisure time at Four Mile Beach where the turquoise warm tropical waters of the Coral Sea are perfect for swimming, sunbathing or just taking a stroll along the shoreline. Possibly the most well known of Port Douglas attractions, Four Mile Beach is wide, running along the eastern side of Port Douglas.
Flagstaff Hill 3.1 km
Flagstaff Hill, also known as "the lookout", is a scenic location that provides spectacular views of Four Mile Beach, the Coral Sea and Low Isle, Port Douglas and Trinity Bay, which is located north of the port at Dickinson Inlet. It is located between the Dickinson Inlet and the Coral Sea, allowing visitors to see all of Port Douglas and the surrounding area.
Mossman Gorge 19.1 km
Part of the Daintree River National Park. Found west of the town of Mossman, the Gorge has a series of paths, walkways and bridges to allow visitors to explore this beautiful region. For a refreshing burst you can go for a swim in the mountain cooled waters that flow through the Gorge.
Snapper Island, Hope Islands National Park 20.0 km
Snapper Island, Hope Islands National Park has lush vine forest, dense eucalypt forest and white sandy beaches. The surrounding waters and reefs are protected in the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park and World Heritage area. The park is also significant to the Kuku Yalanji people, the local Aboriginal Traditional Owners.
Daintree Rainforest 57.4 km
The Daintree Discovery Centre is an award-winning world class interpretive facility that allows visitors easy access to this unique rainforest wilderness via boardwalk tours, a 23 metre high Canopy Tower, Aerial Walkway and comprehensive Display Centre.
Snapper Island, Hope Islands National Park 67.3 km
Kuranda is the cultural tropical rainforest village of the Far North. only 30 minutes drive through World Heritage Rainforest from Cairns city, or choose from a scenic rail journey or Kuranda skyrail cableway. Kuranda offers a diverse mix of vibrant shops, famous markets and local artists. Wander through the beautiful rainforest setting and watch artists at work. Approx. 90 stalls provide an original range of handmade local arts and crafts plus Australian opals, gemstones, crocodile and kangaroo leather goods.

Cape Tribulation is where the rainforest meets the reef. Stroll along the Kulki Boardwalk and enjoy the views over magical beaches. Our tour travels north along the Bloomfield Track to Stingray Bay and Cowie Beach with their unique mangrove systems and tidal pools.
Bloomfield Falls 97.9 km
The Bloomfield Falls are near Cape Tribulation, close to Wujal Wujal, north of the Daintree National Park in Queensland, Australia. The waterfall is on the Bloomfield River. Indigenous rock art is present near the falls which are easily accessible by short walking tracks.
Atherton Tablelands: Kuranda 118.0 km
Although much of northern Queensland is picturesque, nothing compares to the Atherton Tablelands. Rolling hills meet unspoiled forests with hidden lakes, pockets of rainforest, and scattered waterfalls-all fringed by roaming herds of cattle and horses. Traveling northeast on the Kennedy Hwy., you'll find the farming village of Mareeba and touristy Kuranda. The southern route via Gilles Hwy. passes through the township of Atherton and charming Yungaburra.
Kuranda is surrounded by World Heritage listed wet tropics rainforest. It includes around twelve hundred species of flowering plants, eight hundred of which are rainforest trees. There are also orchids, ginger plants, strangler figs, palms and an immense variety of climbing plants. At any time of the year you will wonder at the richness and diversity of the lush foliage.
A wealth of Australia’s native animals, birds and butterflies can be closely observed in the magnificent habitats in and around the Village. For nature in the wild you may take time to enjoy a jungle walk, a peaceful stroll along the river Esplanade or a boat trip on the river. The tropical forest environment is home to many unusual birds: binoculars and keen hearing will bring this world to life. If the gods are smiling, a glimpse of a friendly harmless fresh water crocodile, a playful platypus and a green tree snake will surely reward the observant visitor.
